I Believe Because

Christmas ends, but now pre Easter season begins on the Sunday of Septuagesima which this year was last Sunday, January 28, 2018.
Although Christmas ended for the world December 26, according to the Church, it ended Saturday before Septuagesima Sunday.  We as Catholic realize this.

The dictionary defines the word “realize” this way – “to grasp or understand clearly or to make real.” We all realized the school shootings when we hear about them or the Las Vegas shooting last October. We see these horrors on the news, almost daily it seems.

Until we as an individual experience the terror, it will not become an actual realization because it will not be happening to us.

Likewise, when we hear the story of Christmas or the Passion of Christ we do believe and realize the event, but do we have a real realization of it.  Realization in this sense is a gift of God.

Our Lady says she has many special graces to give us; few ask for them. “Ask, and you shall receive.”

Especially for the Traditionalist who believe and realize the teaching of the Eucharist there lies the hidden truth, just for the asking.

We can have this REALIZATION and have Christmas and Easter each day of our life.

Imagination being there when the King is born and seeing Him rise from the dead. What a grace!

The Living Christ is present in the Eucharist. Unity to Christ is through this sacrament. When we receive an accurate realization of this, we will run to the Blessed Sacrament, where we can talk to Jesus. Imagine speaking to Him in a way that others can not because of lack of faith. Seek a Traditional Catholic church to see the difference.

So close yet, so far away when forgetting to visit the Blessed Sacrament, we miss an opportunity to have a conversation with God and have Him all to yourself. We do realize He is there, or we wouldn’t be persevering as a Traditional Catholic, yet, the true realization seems to be missing too many times.

We need only to ask for this great grace, and we will then experience Christmas each day.

You have, as we all have had that inkling of God’s grace, small as it was, but, if we cooperate with it, it will grow and grow and grow. Pay attention to that inkling next time; who knows it might be your last chance at His grace.

God’s grace given to all; sometimes in the size of a mustard seed. Mustard seeds are the small round seeds of various mustard plants.

“Another parable He proposed unto them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.”
[Matthew 13:31]

“It is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden, and it grew and became a great tree, and the birds of the air lodged in the branches thereof.”
[Luke 13:19]

“And there are three who give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. And these three are one.”
[1 John 5:7]
“And there are three that give testimony on earth: the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three are one.”
[1 John 5:8]
The Trinity, an inscrutable doctrine unique to Christianity.
Inscrutable because it is one of many mysteries of our faith, inexplicable.
No one can adequately explain this mystifying Doctrine, The Father, The Son and Holy Ghost yet; all three are one; except to say you can’t have one without the other.
One little analogy might be the Traditional Latin Mass of all times. Ponder on the definition of another mystifying term “Time,” think of the Mass as the past, present, and future for without it the world will end I fear.

Below is the text of the Nicene Creed the Profession of Faith which states the major truths of the Church, composed at the Council of Nicaea in 325. It was the answer to the Arian FALSE teaching that Christ was not divine.

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
and of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
The only-begotten Son of God.
Born of the Father before all ages.
God of God, Light of Light,
True God of true God.
Begotten not made,
Of one substance with the Father.
By Whom all things were made.
Who for us men and our salvation came down from the heaven.
And He became flesh by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary:
and was made man.
He was crucified for us, suffered under Pontius Pilate, and was buried.
And on the third day, He rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and dead.
And of His kingdom, there will be no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord, and Giver of life,
Who proceeds from the Father, and the Son is adored and glorified
who spoke through the prophets. And one holy Catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins. And I await the resurrection of the dead. And the life of the world to come. Amen

ETERNITY … a dominant reality!

Eternity should be the only DOMINANT REALITY of our life because it is forever. It is whatever exists outside of time.
It is easy to shake your head and say nothing exists but what if you are wrong?

The consequences of being wrong on this account would mean you can’t change your mind once found in eternity. The time given you now is your opportunity to think about eternity.
Just to give you an idea of how long eternity is, let me share this little analogy from my childhood memory.

Imagine a tiny bird that dwells up high in the heavens above; it flies down to earth every 100 years just to take one sip of the waters contained on earth. Consider all the oceans, rivers, lakes and streams throughout. The bird only takes one little sip and flies back to its place in the celestial abode to await the passing of another 100 years for its return to drink again from earth waters. Chances are it will never finish drinking the entirety of water, but imagine it did! The bird took the very last drop. Imagine this scenario, and believe too that eternity would only be beginning.
ETERNITY should be your only DOMINANT REALITY because it just might be the reality of your existence. ETERNITY … a dominant reality.

A PIOUS BELIEF Things Watery

THINGS WATERY my contribution; a reblog of my post on January 20.
This idea of “things watery” reminds me of a pious little story presented here below:

Here is a little story, I am sure many of you, especially those who attended Catholic Schools back in the 40’s – 50’s have heard.

One happy, perfect day in heaven it was decided a contest was in the making for the angels. The rules were they would fly down to earth and find a gift for the Baby Jesus. Whosoever would find the best gift was the winner.

Anxious as they all were they polished their wings and got ready to take off, “Get ready, get set, and GO!” Wings started to flutter; it seems a hurricane entered heaven.

Landing deep within a lush rural forest one such angel found the most beautiful flower, with a luxurious fragrance that seemed to fill the entire forest.

Another angel witnessed the birth of a perfect child with lovely thick locks of hair that seemed to cover its entire head. So the angel just clipped only one to take back to heaven.

Several angels brought back nuggets of pure gold and silver, while still, others found gems that shone like the sun. While others even captured the golden rays from the sun, wrapped them up in glistening threads and carried them back to heaven.

One little angel left with nothing to bring since it seemed that everything already was presented to the new-born King.

The little angel wandered around with his wings held down, still looking, never giving up. Suddenly upon passing a Church, the angel heard some sobbing, stopping to listen through the walls, angels can do that you already know, he heard and saw a human crying in the confessional with tears rolling down their cheeks. The angel also started to tear up. The little angel carefully and very gently lifted but one tear and quickly brought it to the Baby Jesus.

Can you guess what treasure that the King was pleased after seeing all the found riches?

Yes, you are correct.

End of the story

When I was a seminarian about all I heard was that there was a Messianic Secret. I still can’t wrap my mind around that. Jesus was preaching, teaching, healing diseases, exorcising demons, raising the dead, reprimanding the religious and political leaders of the day. There was no one who was more well-known than He was, and […]

After seeing who won the FAKE NEWS AWARDS according to President Trump? Shock!

Are you in shock learning that the present day person sitting in the Chair of Peter is not Catholic? Shock!

Haydock’s Catholic Bible Commentary,

Ver. 7. The mystery of iniquity already worketh,[8] or is now wrought, by the precursors of antichrist; i.e., by infidels and heretics. For, as St. John says, there are many antichrists, precursors to the great antichrist, and enemies of Christ. (1 John chap. ii.) (Witham) — That he who now holdeth, do hold. That is, let each one remain in the faith which he has received of us, and let him not permit himself to be deceived by any discourse, as coming from us. Or rather, let those who shall then be in the world keep their faith, remaining firm in their belief and attachment to the Church of Christ, until Antichrist, that man of iniquity, shall be taken away. (Calmet) — According to others, it is an admonition to the faithful not to be beguiled during this day of trial by such, as under the garb of religion, and with an ostentatious parade of zeal for the holy Scriptures, seek to deceive them. When the mystery of sin shall be revealed, then shall we plainly discover that apostasy from the Catholic Church is the obvious and certain road to a dereliction of all religious principle; yes, to anti-Christianism and atheism. CONTINUED … God’s Attention

Continued from the previous post on Getting God’s Attention:

Fatima, in 1917 the world was given directly from Heaven a peace plan. It was so easy maybe too easy, which is why the world, for the most part, ignored it. Why do I say, her message was ignored, just look at the world, do we have peace?
Our Lady said many things; one such quote would be “many souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray for them.” Not only is the Fatima message a peace plan but it has a lesson for us within the above quote. What do Jesus and Mary desire most of us? They want our charity. We are His instruments. God does not need us, but it is His Will that we co-operate with His grace and exercise true charity for the salvation of souls. “Many souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray for them.” Our Lady gave such a despairing quote to the Fatima seers (children).  Fatima
This quote goes hand in hand with a new commandment which Jesus gave us. In John 13; 34) “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another: that as I have loved you, you also love one another.” A new COMMANDMENT Jesus called it! God reminds us of this in numerous other places through the Bible.

· “I urge, therefore, first of all, that supplication, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men.”
–Timothy 2; 1
· “Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God, is on their behalf unto their salvation.” –Romans 10; 1
· “but others, save, snatching them from the fire.”
–Jude 1; 23
Ponder also our purpose; “Know, Love, and Serve God in this life.” What better way to Serve God than to obey His new commandment.

Your prayers for everyone can be more than just words. A prayer can be your daily disappointments, frustrations, your emotions, your work, tears, joys and even your thoughts; all offered up to God. Always remember that praying for others is how God answers us.

Just Because

We all want God to answer our prayers so how can we get our prayers to the top of God’s “waiting” list?

Think today of the high power God has given us by our praying for souls throughout the world of people unknown to us, but known to God.

God left us with a well of wealth, a well that never dries out. Deep within this well, we will find the infinite treasure of God’s merit just for the taking.  With this unending treasure, we must merely withdraw His merits from the well.

Have you ever begged God, praying daily!

It seems your prayers go unheard?  Try this!
God answers our prayers when we pray for others, especially when we pray for those who we dislike. We do not have to like each other, but we must love each other because Jesus died for all of us.

Let us begin today to ask God to hear the prayers of others, neighbors, associates and people we dislike. God will listen to your prayer for them and answer your petitions as well since He knows all things and knows our desires before we ask. Praying for others is how God answers us.

Fabrication as Opposed to Fact

The word “Entertain” only appears once in the Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible which is a translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate into English.

On the subject of “Lending and Borrowing” in the book of Ecclesiastical chapter 29;31 we read: “He shall entertain, and feed, and give drink to the unthankful, and moreover, he shall hear bitter words.”

What does that verse mean? According to another Catholic source we look at the Haydock Bible which is a Catholic Bible commentary, following the Douay-Rheims Bible text, was originally compiled by a Catholic priest and biblical scholar Rev. George Leo Haydock (1774-1849).

The modern reader will be cautioned that this older commentary uses some archaic language and spellings.

Ecclesiastical verse 31. from the Haydock Bible it reads as follows “Shall Or “has formerly entertained” those, who now reproach him, make him serve in the meanest offices, and at last cast him forth. It may also signify that people who receive ungrateful vagabonds, will be required to serve them, and had better keep them out, ver. 33. (Calmet) — Greek, “thou shalt entertain and give drink to the most disagreeable things.” (Haydock)

This post quoted from “The Imitation of Christ” a spiritual diary by Thomas Kempis born about the year 1380 an ordained priest. His career after that was devoted to practicing the counsels of spiritual perfection and to copying books for the schools.
Quoting from the said book on advice when reading Holy Scripture is to EVOKE TRUTH, not eloquence; and every part read in the spirit in which it was written. For in the Scriptures we ought to seek profit rather than polished diction.
Likewise, we ought to read simple and devout books as willingly as learned and profound ones. We ought not to be swayed by authority of the writer, whether he be a great literary light or an insignificant person, but by the love of pure truth. We ought not to ask who is speaking, but mark what is said. Men pass away, but the truth of the Lord remains forever. God speaks to us in many ways without regard for persons.

Two thought that haunts are,
1. When one thinks they can make a deal with God, as in; I will do this for you if You will do this for me.
If this “trade-off” is something you should be doing anyway, don’t wait for God to act, you should move first and now.
2. The devil can not deceive you unless you want him to deceive you. Which is why the Bible reads “Watch and Pray.” Matthew 26; 41

Don’t rise and fall, nor go up and down, never play seesaw with God.

DANCE with the devil

Have you ever wondered why when we read the lives of the early Christians and Saints, how God spoke directly to them, while today Heaven is so silent? Or like Thomas, a Kempis said, “The grace of God is not communicated to the worldly-minded.” Perhaps it was because without today’s discoveries they were able to HEAR Him.

People today dance with the devil, Internet, cell phones, smartphones, iPhones, Nintendo Wii, Xbox, play stations, iPad, Facebook and snapchat, apps for all ages, androids of every kind, headphones or earpieces destroying developing brains; these are the important things, of today.

God tries to speak to us, but bedazzlement and blindness take over our senses, and we walk in darkness. Without realizing it, we deliberately block His Voice because we prefer anarchy instead of the song of silence. We begin to believe we will live forever, and neither God nor the devil exists. Our youth today is re-wired.
Teens have become brain-dead androids themselves with new noise that interferes with thoughts of their purpose in life. We say we are Christian but do any of us seriously take the time to consider how our sins have nailed Him to that Cross. God is so easy to forget when garbage constantly and presently is fed into our thoughts night and day. Every few months a new item is on the market, and of course, young adults and children have to have the hottest brand or else their life is over, so it seems.

Many or most young people cannot hear God calling them to their vocation; their ears are stopped up with the music of the world indoctrinating their minds with sex, drugs, and anger.

This world of ours comes to an end the moment we take our last breath. We can’t change our will because it is set at that moment forever. If it was the noise, distractions, and chaos, we desired in life, why would we suddenly in eternity want harmony, peace, and love of God?
