My sojourn day by day, as time goes by, noticing that black is white and white, is now black. Life is altered, modified, and turned from winter to spring in lightning speed. Exchange can be good but just when I think I heard it all, the next day I am blown away by another adverse enlightenment.
My only reaction is to disregard, resist and dare to say NO!

The devil can cheer
near our habits, since he is
not inside our will!

YET!

My Haiku above a rephrase of Padre Pio’s quote below:

“healthy sign if the devil shouts and roars around your conscience since this shows that he is not inside your will.”

Shape Poetry and Challenge

Those taking their precious time to read my blog today (I thank you) I must confess this writing was quite complex and quite a test while I am very much in the learning process of composing poetry.
Searching and with good fortune found this particular but exciting format on shadowpoetry.com. A form invented by Christina R Jussaume and titled it — “The Christ-in-a-Rhyme,” a shape poem of the spiritual nature.

This poetry, when completed consists of five 3-lined stanzas that must rhyme; with a syllable count of each stanza, is as follows:
Stanza 1 – 8 syllables
Stanza 2 – 14 syllables
Stanza 3 – 7 syllables
Stanza 4 and 5 – 5 syllables.
The poem should be centered to show the cross that is created.

Below is my humble attempt, I hope you enjoy it and will try writing one today, yourself. Your challenge from me!

Empty ourselves God will fill us.
Peace of soul true happiness plus,
nevermore will there be mistrust!

Recall Saint John “The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.”
We were born to live — Christ born to die — charged as treasonous.
Christ gives, without taking back — His passion love with surplus.

Jesus hangs for all to see,
suffering — to set us free
until our eternity.

Stop — and don’t delay
admit deeds today …
failures on our way.

Shame on behavior.
Precious blood to pour.
— Truly a savior —

Just DO IT!

Not Thy Will be done … but My Will!  WRONG!
Thinking back on my life, in the 70’s; while wondering, does God exist?
Being raised through the Catholic school system my religion meant much, my lifestyle based on what I learned by the nuns. Suddenly then, why was I doubting?
Now I realize why the doubt; I was losing His grace, grace that was keeping me from falling. The Church was changing subtly but fast enough for me to pretend teachings, disciplines no longer mattered. I started to relax; doing my own will.
Mentioning this confession above is essential to the rest of this blog post because I want to write about an account or scenario where an unbeliever wants to believe, and with God’s grace; where to begin is the question. A beginner should start at the beginning with prayer. I had to begin again and know the feeling.

Prayer is talking to God. If one has never prayed before, has in the past but not lately; begin by talking to God as you do with a friend. The critical part, vital is somewhere within your talking to God sincerely, because He knows sincerity; you must petition Him for three things. 1. To see the Truth when you hear it. 2. To love the Truth. 3 To be given the grace to act on this Truth.
Now don’t expect anything to happen immediately, pray daily, and you will be surprised. One more request especially these days when there are so many churches with different lifestyles pulling souls from one direction to another. During your search for Truth ask Him when you draw your very last breath you will be in His grace, and united to the Church that He founded.

Story about a ROCK

I found this very interesting, and it goes along with my previous post here.

Bishop Fulton J. Sheen had this to say:
In the history of the world, only one tomb has ever had a rock rolled before it, and a soldier guard set to watch it to prevent the dead Man within from rising; that was the tomb of Christ on the evening of the Friday called Good. What spectacle could be more ridiculous than armed soldiers keeping their eyes on a Corpse? But sentinels were set, lest the dead walk, the silent speak, and the pierced Heart quicken to the pulse of life. They said He was dead; they knew He was dead; they said He would never rise again, and yet they watched! In His Resurrection He has given the earth it’s most serious wound — the empty tomb. And to us our greatest hope. ~ Fulton J. Sheen

Having posted Sheen’s quote here, it may be those guards were set to guard others buried, but never because of fear of the dead rising. Remember also, in those days it was never recorded that His enemies denied what happened that glorious day when He proved He indeed was God. Nor did they ever find what they believed was a stolen body. The truth is Longinus – the centurion who pierced the side of Jesus later converted (as well as many others) and became a Saint within the Church, he is known today as Saint Longinus.
