The Moment of Truth!

Our puppy — a single Altoid — equal one serendipity moment!

Let me expound!

Take a typical puppy, who wants whatever and everything.

Imagine if you can, my indulgence and pampering myself to a strong peppermint Altoid at that same moment seeing “puppy” staring at me; with eyes speaking “I want one,” so I gave her one.

She eagerly snatched it and just as promptly spit it out, only to try again; spit it out again, and if that wasn’t comical enough, she started to growl and bark at the Altoid.

PRICELESS!

That was her serendipity moment, discovering all is not what it seems to be.

My serendipity moment happened over 35 years ago when I discovered the Catholic Church was not what it used to be. The Church was no longer One, Holy nor Apostolic, but an optical illusion. My neighborhood church slowly apostatized, now a man-founded religion that has adapted to the world a strange belief they called Vatican II.

What to do? Seek, and you shall find, I told myself, go back to what you have learned and believed from the beginning, and so I did.

Quotes: Our INSTRUMENT of Wisdom

#FOWC and his famous word prompt today is: …  ta da ♫ …

INSTRUMENTAL

I choose to post quotes from sources you may or may not be familiar with who have used the word “instrument or instrumental” within their speech.  Some you may or may not agree with but that is what makes the world go around.

*******

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Francis of Assisi

You not only have to know your own instrument, you must know the others and how to back them up at all times. That’s jazz. Oscar Peterson

What we call Man’s power over Nature turns out to be a power exercised by some men over other men with Nature as its instrument. C. S. Lewis

Prayer is not an old woman’s idle amusement. Properly understood and applied, it is the most potent instrument of action. Mahatma Gandhi

You have to have a certain realism that government is a pretty blunt instrument, and without the constant attention of highly qualified people with the right metrics, it will fall into not doing things very well. Bill Gates

We really were a very musical family. Father managed to buy us a small pump organ, and I just loved this instrument. Lawrence Welk

Power is an instrument of fatal consequence. It is confined no more readily than Quicksilver and escapes good intentions as easily as air flows through the mesh.

Mike Pence

While most of the music I write is instrumental, I love to use the human voice as another instrument. Yanni

“The sun when he appeareth shewing forth at his rising, an admirable instrument, the work of the most High.”
[Ecclesiasticus 43:2]

My quote:  The Blessed Virgin Mary was the most important instrument to mankind in that it was through her that God chooses to bring His Son into the world to redeem us.

TEAR DOWN THAT WALL …

Of ENMITY!

“Enmity” the word prompt today from “#FOWC and what a strong word that is.
How can we conquer this emotion of “hate?”
Rancor is prominent today among the Democrats and Republicans as we see on the news today. Not much love there; is it any wonder our youth seems disjointed. Where are their role models? Certainly not in politics!
This wall they speak of is not a matter of dollars; it is evident to those who can see — a matter of ENMITY, hatred for each other.

They have succeeded in building A WALL between them, their ego, self-worship, and wrongful agendas reach heaven, calling for vengeance. Soon it will come, like a thief in the night, it will come to them who love hatred.

dVerse, Photo For the Week, poetry

Back to Kindergarten; a MEMORY!

dVerse is asking bloggers to walk around our house and look at all the things hanging there: on walls, in closets, on your refrigerator door, etc. Pick something that “speaks to you” and use that as the basis for today’s poem. Do take a photo of it if you can, and post the photo too. Perhaps your poem will describe the object, or share a memory about the object, or let us know why the object is important to you; or why it’s hanging there. Any form of a poem is fine; serious or fun or reflective. The key is, we want to hang out with you today and learn about something hanging where you live!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Every time I hear the word “Hanging”, it brings back a memory of me, standing there in kindergarten with the other children and reciting this poem. It had great meaning for me, then as a small child, but today the meaning is even greater. For certainly I have been a very naughty child of God in the past 78 years of my life. Although this is not my poem, composed by me, the author, I believe, is anonymous.

Jesus hanging on the cross,
Tell me was it I?
There are great big teardrops, Lord,
Did I make you cry?
I have been a naughty child
Naughty as can be.
Now I am so sorry Lord;
Please come down to pardon me!
