dVerse is asking for a Triolet with a rule of the meter is iambic tetrameter, that is, each line has four accented syllables with each accented syllable preceded by an unaccented syllable… (gulp! Hmmm!)
My attempt:
Very strange thing the world today
To rid itself of God
Why? — People just want to play
Indeed the world I see today
Will soon discover as they stray
Firing God not easy
A diverse world I see today
No wonder we feel queasy
OR
Very strange thing the world today
To rid itself of God
Why? — People just want to play
Indeed the world I see today
Will soon discover as they stray
Firing God! Oh how odd
A diverse world I see today
To rid itself of God
Frank gave us the rules and at the end said we don’t have to follow the rules. So, is It a triolet? If you call it one, I guess. I love it and the content!

Only wanting to play may be the problem. It does make for a strange world.

Trying to rid your life of God…hmmm….I suppose if you don’t believe in him. Otherwise, it may just be the support you need to keep to maintain some sort of sanity in this world.

I really love your variations of the triolet! How silly for people to think they can fire God, when many of them don’t believe in the first place!!

Thank you so much! I am a newbie at creative writing poetry, but learning so much and loving it too! I was complaining to my adult daughter how I don’t understand other poets of what they are writing about, and she answered me, “Don’t worry mom, they probably don’t understand your poems either.”

Ha Ha! I love it! I am the same way. Still learning about all the forms etc. D’Verse has been a great learning experience. My thinking is, if people can’t understand my poetry, why write it!

I think everyone can believe what they want… and as long as it’s allowed I see no force that rid the world of God (or any God)

Forbidding children to pray in school is only one example, however, I just heard on the news that Trump was reversing that! Good for him!

I actually think that forcing children to pray is much worse…

Personally, I don’t believe God is pleased with anyone who is forced to pray, children or adults. Teaching children is a parent right not the same as forcing when their children are adults they can choose for themselves, that is God’s Will, we choose, its called FreeWill.
