Once upon a time

The Challenge create a poem from paint chips!

Paint Chips for poetry

Once upon a time, time was unknown.
Father God created from His Throne!
God must love the purple-colored tones!

From the kingly royal purple robes
Jacaranda trees over the globe.
Science of ultraviolet probes

The deep purple of the blackberry
The song of the purple canary
Color purple quite legendary.

Once upon a time, obedience was known!

Just Because, opinion

What If !!!

The word today from the famous Fandango is PERFUNCTORY!

Fight with delight, fight the fight, these statues the “peaceful” unthinking, perfunctory protestors are tearing down, have had enough.  BEWARE!

You will have to agree, I feel, these images below are certainly perfunctory, glib, or at least artful, depending on how you look at things.

Is That You, Lord!

Passing by the Church
Come! a voice seemed to whisper
Me myself with God!

Tiptoeing alone
Pausing at giant statues                                    Image1
Walking to and fro.

Faces fixed in place
I can almost hear them speak
staring long enough.

Candles flickering
Shadows dancing; is that You?
Marbled eyes peering!

Sea Serpents and Mermaids

Paint Chip Poetry the rage; will you take the dare? Clickhere!

When I was little, I had a potpourri of Old Leather boots, past on to me by my big sister. As time went on, her euphoria was all about the color yellow! As in a Turmeric flower, bright yellow pennies, even the bright yellow of the Lazy Lizard.
How silly she is, me, I’ll stick with my dreams of Sea Serpents and Mermaids.

Hand me down treasure
Precious keepsake fun to take

Word of the Day Challenge

It’s a GRACE! LISTEN!

All about GRACE!

Painting
Hail Mary FULL OF GRACE

Did you know that “grace,” “gracias,” and “Grazie” all descend from the same Latin word, “grātia”?!
Grace is the Prompt word today via “Word of the Day Challenge.”
In my world, a word I use regularly. This post will reflect on what sense of the word I mean since the definition varies.

Grace is a gift from God! Pure and simple.

Ave Maria, gratia plena meaning Hail Mary FULL OF GRACE.

Oh Happy Day, and from the CDC

FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS! @  https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/5/19-0993_article

quotes from pages 970-972 of the review: “In our systematic review, we identified 10 RCTs [randomized controlled trials] that reported estimates of the effectiveness of face masks in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the community from literature published during 1946–July 27, 2018. In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks…”

“Disposable medical masks (also known as surgical masks) are loose-fitting devices that were designed to be worn by medical personnel to protect accidental contamination of patient wounds, and to protect the wearer against splashes or sprays of bodily fluids… There is limited evidence for their effectiveness in preventing influenza virus transmission either when worn by the infected person for source control or when worn by uninfected persons to reduce exposure. Our systematic review found no significant effect of face masks on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza.”

Questions to answer below in my world!  SYW

question this

Where Do You Not Mind Waiting?

What Is In Your Fridge Right Now? (you’re not required to give a comprehensive list)

If You Could Only Speak One Word Today, What Would It Be?

Would You Rather Be Trapped In An Elevator Full Of Men With BO Or Three Soaked Dogs? (this is with the addendum that C-19 doesn’t exist)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I don’t mind waiting anywhere where I am allowed to sit down; at my 80 years of life, painful standing too long. An exception to that would be a restaurant sitting (too long) waiting for them to take my order when I am “starving.” Also, I might add:  Waiting anywhere you don’t have to waste time; one can quietly talk to God, asking Him to end this dreaded virus or other needs for the people around you while waiting.

Next interesting question IS ♫♪

The most exciting item in my refrigerator is some leftover chicken from last night. Just for reading my post, I will share with you what I will do with this chicken. DELICIOUS!

Ingredients:  COOKED chicken, how much depends on your family size.  One time I sliced a rotisserie chicken from Cosco.  Very good!

Next items: Can of condensed cream of chicken soup

cup or more of sour cream

I package of your favorite frozen vegetables

1 or 2 depending on how large your casserole will be; packages of Stove Top or other similar brands of Stuffing Mix for chicken.

First, prepare the stuffing mix according to directions.

Mix all the other ingredients, place them into your casserole dish size according to the amount. TOP WITH THE PREPARED STUFFING MIX.

Oven approx. 375 bake 30 minutes. DELICIOUS!!!  Be careful not to burn the topping of stuffing.

******If I could only speak one word, it would be … PRAY!

******If trapped in an elevator, let it be the men, hopefully, one of them will have the stinky brains to rescue us.

Whirl

The Sunday Whirl

Have you ever had a near-death experience? I haven’t! Sigh!
Those that have described it as not knowing they were dead. Some hear a voice while still others travel through a tunnel. The atheist would deny this unless it happened to them. Others can’t wait to tell their story and never skip a part of it. Upon their return, they signal relief, having not yet heard their final sentence from the Judge. Like as the good book says “the wailing and gnashing.” It makes me wonder whats in the bag for me. Sometimes I wish I can throw away my past.

What Am I — Weekend Challenge

The Weekly Challenge

What Am I

Firstly I am a being composed of Body and Soul.
An Immortal soul! A human being! BTW … so are you!
We all have the same purpose, to know, love, and serve God in this life that we will be happy with Him in heaven for all eternity. That is our primary purpose. During this journey, we go in many different directions, depending on where He has placed us.

Take the Challenge, I Did!

I love this challenge, and for some strange reason today I wanted to write about myself, a confession.

Prompt words from Paint Chip resulted in the Haibun with Haiku

Somehow I was inspired to compose about my journey of Faith!
Most think the Church has changed with the recent Modern Popes, but in truth, it didn’t change at all, it just became smaller. Luke 18:8
“I say to you that he will quickly revenge them. But yet the Son of man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, Faith on earth?”

↓ My LONG LOST Faith ↓

After a few moments, asking for inspiration, a BRIGHT IDEA was wrought.
Faith was lost in the past, and like a HERMIT CRAB, I was living in a shell.
Slowly in the early ’70s, I found myself growing warmer to hot like the TROPICS. Realizing if there was a God, my choices were not His.

Something was amiss! I desired the sweet flesh of the Blessed Sacrament, but instead, it was only bread. The Catholic Church changed, I thought! I began to pray.
I yearned to be cleansed; where was this fountain where the Water Lily/LOTUS waited for me? Somewhere I knew for His promise was forever. Seek, and you shall find, like BABY’S BREATH, a beginning again; I found the POMEGRANATE, the Sweet Flesh, red Blood of He who died for me many seeds for all to see, the Church still existed. Like a PEACOCK with its many eyes, God does see our deeds, He cares!

About Tradition
Gates of Hell will not prevail.
Seek, and you shall find!

Gadfly Bari Weiss Quits New York Times, Savages Them: If You ‘Speak Your Mind … You’ll Be Hung Out To Dry’

Do you belong to a THINK GROUP, where you MUST use the same words, including adjectives et al? Or Else!

Nwo Report

Copies of the New York Times sit for sale in a rack July 23, 2008 in New York City.

Source:  Hank Berrien

Bari Weiss, the New York Times writer and editor whose independent views in the Opinion section made her a thorn in the side of the New York Times leftist editorial staff, is leaving the paper.

Weiss issued an open letter that was addressed to New York Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger in which she notes that after the 2016 election of Donald Trump, the paper hired her as part of an effort to understand the perspective of American citizens who didn’t share the paper’s views.

Weiss cites the numerous voices she had brought to the Times over the last four years, among whom were many people who have spoken out against brutal, tyrannical regimes.

But then she continues with these blistering paragraphs:

But the lessons that ought to have followed the election—lessons about the importance of understanding other Americans, the necessity of resisting tribalism, and the centrality…

An Explanation— Gift

Eugi’s Weekly Prompt –Identity – July 13, 2020

One day while I minded my own business, a couple of men tried to stump me. I knew by the tone of their voice what they intended. It so happened and unknown to me, my scapular was hanging out from beneath my outer garment—those who do not know a scapular, a blessed religious article sacred to Traditional Catholics.
They heckled and said,
“do you really believe that piece of cloth will save you”?
“No,” I said, “it is my identity.”
I continued to explain how an officer wears a badge, or others might wear a logo to identify themself.
To wear a Cross or medal is not superstitious as many WANT to believe; it means merely we identify ourselves with Jesus, Mary His Mother, who was with Him from His conception till His death. Now that is worth in which to identify for those who believe.scapular

Who is Truly Culpable?

For Fandango my attempt at a limerick

Once upon a time lived only Adam plus Eve
They lived happily neverending they perceived.
Meandering, a long, slimy slithering snake
I feel someone is about to make a mistake!
From that day on, the world seeks to find a reprieve.

Looking everywhere trying odds and ends
We all do hope someday to make amends.
While time marches; listen hear the tock-tick
Solution is within; this limerick!
Try this! What do you do on your weekend?
