Eugi's Weekly, Only 6Sentence

Sixth Sense we all have it!

Six sentences have specified “charm,” prompting us to write relating to its allure.
Beware, and learn from my mistakes, the evil one can be most charming, and this charm is deceitful, part of his lure.
His bait to lure you into his camp, without you even realizing it. Many people are sincerely appealing; getting to know a person very well before you trust them entirely is my advice. Take it from an older person, your choice, PROMISE yourself to heed, observe, and above all pray.
Have faith and trust God, who has provided us with instinct, some call it a sixth sense, use it!

A Time to REFLECT is now!

REFLECTIONS

Not sure who’s challenge this belongs to; BOTH; the word “reflection” seems to be quite popular today, perhaps because we are at the end of the year, and it seems natural to reflect. The unfinished picture, our life! “I am walking in a path by which I shall not return.” Job 16;23
We can not retrace not one step; whatever we have done (exactly) today is done. Never to have that little or hour back, which hopefully it was not wasted time. I may have other opportunities to please God, but the past is the past. Reflect on that for the New Year!

Share your World

A New Year, what’s next?

One good reason to participate in this challenge known as Share-your-world is to allow you to examine your conscience, a big something for me!

See the questions by clicking above to share your world. We want to know!

For New Year’s Eve, I will be sleeping at my age but will awake slightly when I hear the much younger generation celebrating with what they call making as much noise as possible. Jan 1, 2022, I will attend Holy Mass, a Holy Day described on the Traditional Catholic calendar.

Next year, let us all pray God will give us all the following year. His patience is incredible; perhaps He will only purify the world as He did in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah.

The greatest lesson I learned is that I don’t need to wear that mask everywhere as in 2020. Grateful too, that most people if not all in my area also figured that out!

Christmas Cheer

Go Dog Go Cafe, poetry

Where are you?

Haibun Wednesday at Go Dog Go Cafe.

One distinguishing characteristic of getting old might be for you, as it is for me; looking back in time!
One might compare the encounter as sitting down, relaxing, picking up where you left off while wandering through the pages of "Been there, done that." Also known as memories that belong only to me!
One such memory was during Christmas, as a small child after the gifts were opened, wrappings put away, sitting under the Christmas tree with my gifts piled on my lap, thinking I was the richest girl in the world. I had a board game, a doll, and a few other trinkets. Looking at the baby Jesus display next to me, thanking Him, I was so happy; I still remember how true happiness felt that Christmas day.

Time has past — Christmas
noteworthy but disappeared
My doll where are you?

Santa Clause meets Fandango

See Fandango’s Story Starter to join in!

I knew he had already arrived at the rendezvous point because I could see the groups of children waiting in line for Santa Clause to hear their desires and present them with one delicious candy cane of their choice.
The choice was either red, white, or blue. Why? Because he was a very patriotic Santa. His suit was bright red, while his beard was pure white, his big bag of toys was quite bumpy and quite blue.

My Christmas Tree for all to SEE!

My Christmas tree is up! All decorated with handmade ornaments by myself and rosaries I have collected over the many years of my life. Broken chains, missing beads, and most of all, the Crosses were lost, AND it took me three days to repair the rosaries, so many; several were left to me when my mother passed away, several I found at garage sales, and most were mine all worn out. Yet they are all fixed TODAY and happily hanging on my Christmas tree, waiting as I am waiting for the celebration of the birth of our Redeemer.

God is so good; it is His birthday, yet we get the gifts; the greatest gift is knowing Him who became a man like us—living not in luxury but poverty to teach us what is essential in this life and what is not.

I love Christmas; that was the day I met my husband when I was 17 years old.

Before I met him, when I was a young girl, I would ask God to give me a special Christmas gift as the day came closer, not knowing He would, the following Christmas 1997.

What makes Christmas GRAND is that we all recognize it: atheists, non-Christians, children, and the elderly. That is the POWER OF GOD!

The word Christmas originally meant Christ’s Mass. I remembered back in 2015, a war against the word “Christmas.” Even the stores were trying to change it to Happy Holiday, but they lost. It is what it is, CHRISTMAS!  They CAN NOT; WILL NOT ever remove God!

Weekend Writing Prompt

Learn a new word

The weekend only 81 words writing challenge here!

Words Matter: Think about it! When we speak or write, success is measured by our words and how we use them. This week I learned a few words such as Gully-Washer and today the world Pavonine a word that is not even in the online Thesaurus; Looking it up I found the origin is Mid 17th century from Latin Pavoninus, from pavo, pavon – ‘peacock.’

Concerning color might be greening to blues—description for the color used for artists and crafty persons.

Although my deeply sun-colored feathered chest
It prevents finding that perfect place to rest
Hiding here and there among the tangled sprigs
I bet you didn’t notice me against these twigs
