My Haibun and Haiku or Senyru below:

Most Sashay through life without giving little thought to the end.
Time, also known as the world; more than breath, less than an illusion.
God’s design is all in all. We desire yet wonder what we yearn.

Purpose of life be
Happy in eternity
Know Love and Serve God

My sojourn day by day, as time goes by, noticing that black is white and white, is now black. Life is altered, modified, and turned from winter to spring in lightning speed. Exchange can be good but just when I think I heard it all, the next day I am blown away by another adverse enlightenment.
My only reaction is to disregard, resist and dare to say NO!

The devil can cheer
near our habits, since he is
not inside our will!

YET!

My Haiku above a rephrase of Padre Pio’s quote below:

“healthy sign if the devil shouts and roars around your conscience since this shows that he is not inside your will.”

Once Upon a Time — An Earthquake

dVerse   Haibun and Haiku

One unexpected day for me quite unforgettable was the Northridge Earthquake: On January 17, 1994, at 4:31 am, an earthquake in California where I lived with my husband and six children occurred. It was rumored at that time the quake was over 7 magnitude, but for the benefit of the insurance companies, the experts said 6.7.
Suddenly without warning, the bed started to go up and down, violently, not back and forth as one would expect but, up and down. The noise of all the pictures and other “whatevers” hanging on the wall was overwhelming. I jumped out of bed knowing it was an earthquake and quickly ran into my children, pulling them out of bed, rushing with my husband outside the house, and into our car. Sitting in the car getting our self together after the shock of it all. Sitting waiting for daylight, since all utilities were out. We could see and hear our neighbors doing the same thing, but some were using flashlights inspecting their property. The aftershocks too were quite disastrous.
Our family was one of the fortunate ones with little damage compared to the many others. When something like this happens, at least in my case, I forget to pray I react to the experience only. Therefore, now when I am in my quiet time and do pray, I have this imaginary spiritual bank account that my Guardian Angel is in charge of, and if something of this nature ever happens again, I will automatically draw from it. It may sound silly to the reader here, but it gives me the piece of mind I need while living in this dangerous world.

Shake Rattle and roll —
One cold, long night without sleep
historic moment!

My Confession in Haibun Poetry

dVerse is asking for a poem about one or all of the 7 Vices or Virtues and how our life has been affected. Do we see a complementary function between vice and virtue? Is there one, in particular, that has played a crucial role in your giving into temptation? Or one that has provided a valuable lesson?

My Confession of Time

Confession begins while pleading guilty of all, Pride, always the root. Yes, with each passing day the realization of “looking back” has already started, it is Pride, greatest enemy of my life! I demand, could this be the reason why I have been asking for humility lately? You see today I am older than yesterday, and growing old is a gift. TIME!
Understanding the use of this gift is to arrive at my eternity. To correct a sinful life, while that “stranger” the conscience is always nagging, “pray” it warns, for spiritual wisdom to know my sins and be sorry for them … why do I wonder?

Recognizing time —
a reality of Life.
Vice, Virtue our choice.
Eternity always there
on the mind ever-present.

Silent SOUNDS Challenge by …

dVerse Haibun Monday

Last Sunday, May 27 was Trinity Sunday, a grand feast day in the Church, to honor the Blessed Trinity. Our priest told a little story which explained a little better how the Church teaches that the Son is begotten by the Father from eternity both are one and equal. That is the teaching of the Church.

The story our priest told was of a typical family a boy and his father. A father mocking his son’s belief in the Blessed Trinity. This father told his son that the father must come first in order to have the son, not equal. The little boy obviously inspired by God said, “no dad, you were never a father until you had me. You became my father the same exact time I became your son.”

Sharing a Silent Sound composed recently in honor of the Blessed Trinity creating my SILENT SOUND.
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost. Three in One, O Holy Ghost Spouse of Mary, of Whom Jesus was made incarnate. Holy Ghost Tongue of Fire enflamed with love bringing light to the world enlighten me, White Dove Paraclete to all, Sanctifier and guide. Intercede to Our Lady for extraordinary graces as we need them when we need them.

A Haiku  would sound like this

Three in One timeless
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
