Tanka Tuesday by Colleen Chesbro

Color in Poetry written in Free Verse

I took the challenge to write about color in poetry — a Free Verse Poem I read about here at LITERARY DEVICES. @ https://literarydevices.net/free-verse/

This challenge was inspired by Tanka Tuesday Weekly Poetry; click this for details.

Hoping this will live up to Colleen’s standards of Free Verse Poetry. It does have a syllable count of 9 per line.

This Big Round World; a coloring book
From the BLUE sky with hints of TURQUOISE,
Far-reaching down to secure BROWN earth!
Seasonal Summer with RED hot sun,
Fall with shades of ORANGE tinted leaves,
Winters are cold, and colored snow WHITE
At last, the time to welcome Spring GREEN!
When the long dark nights are BLACK; it seems
The sun sleeping in-between the GRAY
Soft silvery PINK and PURPLE clouds!
This Big Round World; a coloring book!

May the month of color see here for a fun prompt

A Becky Challenge

Tee hee, I’m bare and an Odd Square!

What is so odd about a bare tree? It is that time; time to protect certain trees through nature dropping the leaves leaving them bare. This activity gives the plant, as defined in the word “SPRING” a fresh start! Another word might be recycled.

Bare and Square

Whatsoever IS

Lovely is as Lovely does

Whatsoever is Lovely

This is my third time participating in this fairly new challenge known as:

“Whatsoever is Lovely”

+++++++++++++++++++++

This week I found two Lovelies from my pictures stored in my computer, one is a tree that reminds me of a dancer so I incorporated one into the image. The other is SNOW, that white fluffy stuff hanging onto my bird feeder waiting for Spring.

Reflections to Enjoy

THE Photo Prompt

Tanka poetry inspired by a tranquil image of Trent P. McDonald as seen above.
Colleen suggests Synonyms for two words; move and make. I chose to use “create” for make and “drift” for move.

Magnetic water
Draws life from above —peaceful!
Create reflections
Holding captive souls as it
Obeys — drifting straits foretold.

Just Do It!

Creating the edge of summer — Creative writing!  Do It!

Edge the summer with pictures! Summer; for many their first, others they’re last. For most of us, it is another.
Summer comes then soon departs —
As the seamstress creates her gown adding fringe to her creation;
a keepsake for the years ahead.
Take a pen, paper and edge your summer with lace or shred, happiness with tears; lessons learned!  The seasons God’s gift to us, His time clock.

“Nevertheless, he left not himself without testimony, doing good from heaven, giving rains and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” Acts of Apostles 14;16

Reasons for all Seasons

My post here is an acceptance of Colleen Chesebro Challenge Tanka Poetry; her challenge is to use the synonyms for the words “Meaning & Passion” look for the synonym underlined.

How boring life would be without those famous candy hearts on
Valentine’s Day, thank you, Saint Valentine, for your message of love.♥♥♥

Who doesn’t enjoy that green beer on St. Patricks Day,

HOWEVER

♫ It’s not easy being green ♫ ♫ ♪; ( tell that to AOC)

The warmth of Spring brings Easter, a new bonnet and basket full of colored eggs, bunnies; peeps too! The Lord has Risen proving He, Jesus Christ, IS God. Ah! Easter, God, is good.

Merry and joy, lights, decorations are here. Its Christmas, His Birthday and yet, we get all the presents. Just think if He never came to us, no reason as they say, for the season.

Any of the Seasons!

Powerful is God

We delight — remember all
