Today Nov. 24 we are reminded it is the end of the liturgical year. Today we remember by Holy Mother Church of the end of the world; the Last Judgment. Those of us who attend the Mass of All Times will hear again about THE END.
Jesus Christ, who one day suffered agony in the Garden of Olives because He saw all the faces of those He created that ignored Him.
Are you one of them? Did YOU make Him cry?
He could have opened Heaven for all of us, by a wave of His hand, but then we would never know His Infinite Love for us. Therefore, He chooses to be lashed, having His innocent skin pulled away and opened for all to see. Yet we close our eyes to His pain; cry at the sight of our little pain when we being bruised.
The cross He carried was not as pictured, smooth as silk, it was splintery, rugged/uneven, damp since it was soaked with our sins. Sins from the beginning of Adam/Eve to the last man. So heavy He fell, not once but three times. When we fall, we too must get up, pick up our cross, and follow Him. Ask for help when we fall, as Simon of Cyrene helped Jesus.
The tearing off of His garment ensue His precious Blood to flow again.
Slamming His torn body upon His Cross; oh those nails pounding into His hands and feet as many heckle, while others cry. Consider also the lifting of His Cross and not gently placing it into the ground. Imagine all this suffering, now the jarring motion, rough planting of His Cross at the bones of Adam and Eve.
There stood three crosses, He as always is found near sinners, one repenting, another rebel, significant of today, many repent, while most scoff and reject. Which of the two sinners are you and I, is the question?
