#FOWC, Politics

Well … Is it or isn’t it?

My post today turned out to be a “Happy Accident” since it begins with the prompt word and ends with the prompt word, something that happened quite by accident. Thanks, FOWC for the word.

Semantics or meanings of words can be exciting these days, mainly when one listens to the media; i.e.  take the word “fact.”

A fact should be stubborn. Stubborn because a “Fact” is checked, tested and proven, or it wouldn’t be a FACT. However these days in politics, facts become noise as in echos — fantasies for others, as in fiction! Furthermore through the power of semantics, “facts” the word; in the mind of the obstinate soon become conspiracies.

Perhaps the problem with politics these days; is simply the nomenclature! The “genius” of those who continue adding diversity to definitions not to develop them but to change the language for their agenda.

The never-ending doings of semantics.

Sounds with Meanings

Onomatopoeia /.ɒnə(ʊ)matəˈpiːə/

– the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named (e.g. cuckoo, sizzle ).
– the use of onomatopoeia for literary effect.

So the prompt today is all about the sound that expresses the meaning of the word.

Ah, ah Choooo!
God bless you!
What if I don’t believe in God?
Ouch! Yikes!
Gibberish, Jibberish, and gobbledygook!

This poem of mine
tic-toc poet took its time
Not chance, did it rhyme.

Word Prompts

Favorite word challenge! Had to think on this one since I never gave it serious thought. Words are attractive to any of us who are interested in writing. Words whether it be poems or prose.
The word that I always felt was interesting was a description of a neighbor I had many many years ago. From day one after this family moved into the community they struck me as being … PERSNICKETY! That is an excellent word in my opinion because if you don’t know the meaning, the word itself explains the meaning.

Ending on a religious note which is the theme of my blog, I am reminded again of a different person,  other than the person described above; I was acquainted with who told me how he felt about himself; that his life was so sinful, he honestly believed that God could never forgive him.
What he was saying,  not with words but his belief;  his sins were more significant than the Mercy of God and that God was PERSNICKETY!

If any reader here feels that way, please read my previous post for June titled “Hello the Month June.”
